Yet Another Subway Performance
A man on the subway, who had obviously drunk one too many eggnogs, decided to burst into song. His unfortunate song choice was the maudlin ballad "All By Myself." The man's pitch ever more unsteady, and his performance grew ever more melodramatic, culminating in the loud chorus: "All By Myseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelf! Don't wanna be! All By MYSEEEEEEEELLLLLFFFF!" A nearby passenger couldn't bear it anymore and exploded, "You WILL be, if you keep singing like THAT!"

You know, maybe to help guys like this, and, to raise extra funds to hold down rising fares, Mayor Bloomberg could lease access to the subway cars to a company to install coin-op "karaoke" machines. That way, drunks and other
"entertainers" can sing up a storm, the music from the machine will make it a tad more tolerable, and, it will put some money into the Transit Authority's coffers. Let's make singing on the subway at least a little profitable. Maybe then there could be a "Star Search" episode on the "A" train or something at the end of each season of subway karaoke singing.
